Hi.

You've found my journal. If I know you in real life, go away.

Everyone else, please, come in and stay a while.

If you friend me, I'll friend you back. Just drop me a comment so that I know.

All my fic can be found on AO3 here.

If there's anything else you want to know, just ask.
Hello Yuletide Author!

Thank you for writing for me. Since we were paired on an awesome, tiny fandom no one else is in, you clearly have great taste and I will love whatever you write. But if you want some guidance, here's some more about what I love:

Happy endings. There can be angst before it gets there, but the end has to be happy. Also, if there's a situation where a character needs to forgive another character, that forgiveness needs to be earned. It's a total pet peeve of mine when one character forgives another just because they need to get together by the end of the story, and not because the character actually should.

I love established relationship fic (but it still needs plot, it shouldn't be plot-less curtain fic). Seeing as most of my asks are for canon established relationships, no surprise here.

Another non-surprise, based on all my YA asks: I love coming of age stories. I love when a main character learns something about themselves. The relationships can be almost secondary to the main character's growth and development as a person.

In general, I love AUs, but since these are such small/non-existent fandoms I'd prefer something that's canon compliant and in the general tone of the canons. I consider far-future (for example- 20 years after the source material) as canon compliant, and tend to love it.

I hate saying "no" to things, because for each one of these, I can think of a fic exception, but please no death or non-con or dub-con. Also, no mpreg or babies no matter where they come from.

Fandom specific asks/comments/loves are... )
A million years ago, back before season two finished and possibly before I finished watching season one, all I wanted was a zillion Lydia fics. So I made Lydia art for the Teen Wolf Reverse Bang. Then I promptly forgot about it. But posting is finally here!

Hi Yuletide Author!

Thank you for writing for me. These are a few of my favorite things. )
I went to a book signing/concert/online community gathering for John Green’s new novel, The Fault in Our Stars, tonight.

At my second transfer (because it takes me three trains to get home from Symphony Space) I sat down at the far end of a bench from a homeless guy. I pulled out my book, and about 10 pages in the homeless guy says “The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves.”

“We need Uncle Bill,” he says, referring to Shakespeare. He then quotes a sonnet at me. He knew which number sonnet it was but I don’t. (I put ‘Read more Shakespeare’ on my list of things to do after seeing Sleep No More last year, but haven’t yet.)

He then told me that good Uncle Bill says “neither a borrower nor a lender be; for loan oft loses both itself and friend,” which seemed remarkably apt considering today’s economic situation.

At this point, possibly because I had closed my book and was smiling at him, the guy told me his bottle of Gatorade actually contained his special juice.

Then the F arrived, so I left him on his subway bench and came home.
Hi! Thank you! You are awesome!

These are a few of my favorite things. )

Or, you can ignore my crazy, super-specific requests and write anything. By virtue of being in these fandoms, I'm guaranteed to love it. Thanks again!

Mix & Art

Sep. 8th, 2011 08:13 am
Good morning Internet!

I had the pleasure of doing art and a mix for [livejournal.com profile] alexthegreat's [livejournal.com profile] thesocialbbang TSN big bang fic. What I've learned in this process is that I'm not actually good at photoshop. Luckily, mixes count as art.

So, as soon as it's posted, you should go read the fic, The Secret Life of Daydreams because it is absolutely wonderful.

In the meantime, here's my art for it. )

And, here's the mix.

I cannot wait to get home from work so I can do this with all of my tights.
I have already done many loads of laundry today. Also, this:

I might still fiddle around with it, because it's not as good as I'd like. But, you get the point.
My Yuletide Gift you guys! Someone actually took up my challenge to write Realm of Possibility fic, written in the Lily chapter voice.

Proposition

Then I notice he still has a backpack slung over his shoulder. Pardon me, fair sir, but I must inquire... That is when he whips out the bag of toothpicks. There must be hundreds in there.

He says, Tonight I thought we could recreate civilization.

I bite my lip,
and consider the proposition.
And I reply,
Sounds smashing.

So, I finally bit the bullet and unfriended a whole bunch of bandom comms and people I was friends with for bandom fic, because I'm really not interested in that at the moment.

If I unfriended you and you think it was a mistake and you still want to be friends, let me know. If I didn't unfriend you, but you no longer want to be friends, go ahead and defriend me. I won't mind.

I've also been slowly friending new people from fun, new fandoms like Merlin and Star Trek Reboot so if you've stopped by because you got that email from LJ that I friended you — Hi! I don't post or comment much, but I love your fic.
But first, a funny (okay, mildly amusing) story — at the show, I was standing next to this guy that looked vaguely familiar but I couldn't figure out who it was or why I would recognize him. Later, the same guy is at AK, so I ask my friend about it. It turns out I spent the entirety of William Beckett's set standing next to Nick Scimeca. He is way shorter than he looks on the internet.
